"Jane" juvenile tyrannosaur skull
This restoration was created for the Burpee Museum in Rockford, Illinois, to showcase the beautiful though incompletely preserved skull of the juvenile tyrannosaur, “Jane” (BMRP 2002.4.1). To guide my progress as I sculpted the missing skull anatomy (about 40% missing), the Burpee arranged for a panel of paleontologists to review my work. In addition to Jane’s lead investigator, Michael Henderson, I consulted with Thomas Carr, Philip Currie, and Michael Parrish. The finished model was sent to RCI for molding, casting and mounting.
